Nipped in for a pint and a meal before a Heaton Stannington match. It's about a 20 minute walk from their ground. Great selection of food available on the menu. I'm generally very fussy and I was absolutely spoilt for choice on their options. I went with a steak baguette for £14.95. It hit the spot. Chips weren't home maid style which are my absolute favourite but they weren't bad at all and three onion rings were canny. Gravy was delicious by the way ... Would have liked a bit more to pour on the steak baguette ideally. I'd made the visit mostly because I had seen the place had cask ales and they did indeed have two Allendale ales on. Would have preferred two brewery choices but not complaining as it better than the often choice between John Smith's and Alpacalypse. Very roomy pub with loads and loads of seating including a fairly sizable outside beer garden. Great pub. Would happily come back.

Fab catch up with friends yesterday at TNH. We all sampled the lunchtime menu and couldn’t believe we could get a light lunch and a pint for £10.50….. absolutely amazing value. A huge list of wraps and sandwiches to choose from, all served with a small portion of chips. I went for the steak and mushroom sandwich which was absolutely scrummy….. would defo order again. Staff were super friendly and attentive too. A very pleasant atmosphere and perfect place to spend a lovely afternoon. Keep up good work guys…. We will be back!

The Hussar is still a good pub for a drink but I'd avoid the food- it's gone downhill drastically, chips are clearly just frozen supermarket ones for eg. A shame as this used to be a great place to eat as well.
